Weekendings

How was your weekend? I started mine with a waitress shift, but after that nonesense, I moved on to more important things: socializing on the Eastside.

I love, love, love all the businesses on the Eastside. They’re all quirky, and unique, and — generally — well-priced. There’s lots of nice, outdoor spaces with big enough tables to accommodate large groups. My last several birthdays have been rung in on the Eastside, and it’s my location of choice for grabbing a beer.

Occasion: Drinks at Rio Rita’s/Gypsy Lounge with friends
Tank: XXI | Scarf: Italian silk, a gift from Courtney A. | Feathers: Mana Culture
Shorts: Volcom, thrifted | Boots: Jessica Simpson, Nordstrom | Ring: Charming Charlie

What’s your favorite part of town?

I love the eastside, but West Campus will always have my heart since I used to live over there. Plus, Kerbey Lane is great for the drunken munchies! You look fab–I love your boots and that scarf makes the outfit so purrrrdy!

I hate going to the Eastside! My great aunt lives over there (and has for over 70 years!) and if she sees me, she’ll tell my grandma I was out drinking. I love your cute outfit, especially that scarf!!

Loved our last post – but couldn’t comment for some reason.  I am probably a big contributor to the whole Austin not being a well dressed town thing.  Fashion is something I struggle with to say the least.

I love Shangri-La too.  We usually stick to south of the River, but if we go downtown it’s Jackalope, Side Bar, or Shangri La if we’re east.

Weird! Thanks for letting me know… I doubt you’re a contributor! That’s the great thing about Austin, it’s so diverse, fashion-wise! And so casual. There’s nothing wrong with that! :)

I love the Liberty because it has the East Side Kings trailer which has PORK BUNS and friend beets. I like the Grackle because it has East Side Kings trailer with different food, but I don’t really like sitting on that weird birdcage of a patio they have. Cheer Up Charlies is my favorite, though, if I’m not hungry :)

I didn’t mean to say “friend beets,” but if the ESKs made those, I bet they would be delicious too.

Omg, fried beets? I haven’t been to that trailer yet, I’m seriously considering a couple of trailer crawls this fall — one east side, some so la, and one so co.

Welcome!
