Ladies Who Brunch

Occasion: Sunday Brunch at Trudy’s
Shirt: Ninety (Snagged at the TxSCC swap!) | Jeans: Seafarer (Vintage, thrifted)
Cork Wedge Sandals: Target | Belt: Thrifted | Bracelet: Charming Charlie

It was a lovely weekend. Though I ended up skipping the rest of SXSW, I did get to catch up with some friends I haven’t seen in a while. We had a wonderful brunch/lunch at Trudy’s, just like old times. Every one of the lovely ladies in this photo worked with me at a frat bar about five years ago. We always say that (the owner) hand-picked our friends, and they’re all hot! There are definite perks to being a waitress/bartender when you’re a young lady with a pretty smile. :)

Occasion: Simplicity Wine & Eats
Scarf: Italian Silk gift from C. Andujar | Cardi: um…? Owned it forever | Shirt: TxSCC Swap
Pants: Gap cropped khakis Similar | Shoes: Studded Gladiator Sandal from Target

I’d never been to Simplicity before, but I fell in love! Not only is it super close to my neighborhood, but they’re running a “green” restaurant — all their utensils and plates are compost-able and they recycle all their bottles. I love finding local businesses that I really, really want to support.

During the day on Saturday I built a compost bin (it sounds hard, but it was really easy), I hand-washed my car, planted some more flowers, and painted some old chairs for cuter patio furniture. Overall, it was a wonderful weekend!

What did you do this weekend? Do you normally try to just relax after a hard week, or go into super-productive mode?

Giddyup SXSW

Occasion: SXSW Fader Fort Opening Day
Shirt: Thrifted & cut | Skirt: Vintage (I think!), snagged at the TxSCC swap
Scarf: A silk Italian gift from C. Andujar | Bracelet: Charming Charlie

It’s kind of a gross, cloudy day, but my weather app tells me it’s going to be 81º today, so no cardi! Thank you to Kelsey at Snappy Casual for the great scarf tutorial yesterday! As you can see, I’ve been a good student.

I’ve been having a love affair with this horse shirt for many, many years. I can’t seem to put it out to pasture just yet. (Ha! Horse joke!)

How do you handle cloudy, but warm weather?
