About Me

I am a 24-year-old Austinite and to-do list enthusiast who spends her days corralling the written word into a neat and pretty package for a student magazine and trying not to kill her husband with her cooking.

After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism, (“yes, really, it’s called a B.J.,” said the nice man at the co-op when I ordered my diploma), I briefly worked as the art director of a company with an insane corporate cult-ure. When I got fired for not drinking the kool-aid, I looked at my life and said, “hell, no, that’s not what I want.” I started cooking, baking, and generally just being good at stuff I liked. I decided to blog about it.

After enduring the hell that was “creative direction under an un-creative supervisor,” I decided to return to my roots at a student-led publication. Now I work part time as an art director, and part time as a stay-at-home wifey. I drink a lot less now.

Hello Wife was created as an outlet during a time where I was floundering and couldn’t find a direction. After literally having the creativity sucked out of my body, (there was an apparatus for it, I swear!) it took me a while to get back to the creative and happy place that I currently inhabit.

It was a long journey, but I finally made it back.

This blog served as a way to force myself to be creative, to learn new things and share. Now that I’m feeling like my self again, the blog is meant to become so much more.

Thanks for stopping by!
